Commitment to Culturally Safe Care for Indigenous Youth
At Guiding Hearts Clinical Counselling, we recognize the importance of culturally safe, respectful, and trauma-informed care for Indigenous youth. Our practice is deeply committed to honoring Indigenous worldviews, histories, and healing traditions.
Trish Scoular, our lead counselor, has completed the Sanyas Indigenous Cultural Training, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to provide culturally safe and sensitive support. This training empowers our practice to integrate Indigenous values, teachings, and trauma-informed approaches into counseling.
We strive to create a welcoming and safe space where Indigenous youth and their families feel understood, respected, and supported. We actively engage with Indigenous communities and Elders to ensure our services are responsive to the unique mental health needs shaped by intergenerational trauma, resilience, and cultural identity.
Whether through individual counseling, culturally relevant therapeutic approaches, or community partnerships, Guiding Hearts is dedicated to providing healing that respects and celebrates Indigenous heritage.
If you or your family members are seeking counseling that honors your cultural background, please reach out to us. We are here to listen, support, and walk alongside you on your healing journey.
